Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome!

I had my appointment with Dr Chi to go over the EMG/NCT results, there's definitely nerve issues happening, quite severe.
He said that Dr. C felt that the damage was chronic and needed to be dealt with as soon as possible to reduce further damage.
He thinks the initial injury from the horse hoof might have started things but the foot never healed properly(the inflammation around the nerves never went away) and so the nerves have continued to be compressed which has caused damage in different parts of my foot.

Of course we discussed the course of action to deal with this and both Dr's recommend the Tarsal Tunnel Release and as soon as possible.
We're not sure if some of the nerve damage will be permanent or not, we'll have to see what he finds when he operates and how it heals.

I had a feeling I would need surgery but it's always different to hear those words but I agreed it was the best and only option to reduce the amount of pain I was in.

After that a lady came in and took me to the surgery booking room and we figured out a date.
I said I wanted the surgery done as soon as possible that way I could have some of the good weather left to enjoy!
We decided on April 8th, 2009 at the Issaquah Highlands Surgical Center.

So this brings us to today...............I have less than a week until surgery, so I'm trying to do as much as I can (esp outdoors) before I'm laid up for a while.

I'm a bit nervous but any surgery is nerve racking, I just wanted it to be over and done with so I can get on with life!

I hope they give me some good drugs so I'm not in too much pain afterward(for my sake and Adams). haha!

I will use this blog to keep track of my recovery process..........I know I'll be bored out of my mind being inside for a while so it will be helpful to write about how I'm doing.

Anyways, thanks for reading up to this point and stay tuned, surgery is very soon and we'll see how it goes from there.

Wish me LUCK!
