Well this morning I decided I was DRIVE MYSELF TO MY INR testing! :-) I did good, ofcourse it was so busy with traffic at 8:25 when I left the house! Oh well, I had no problem getting from our place to Issaquah!
My INR was at 2.2 so not too bad but would be better if a bit higher so the lady put me back on 10mgs 3 days and 7.5mg for 4 -- she figures the driving and better mobility are making the INR drop a bit so we'll see how it is next Thursday.
The driving is giving the foot a nice work out, I try to go the easiest routes possible so I have less clutching to do! haha! After driving the past 3 days in a row my foot is good, not much swelling(thanks ol lady compression stocking LOL) and hardly any discomfort. It's really good for my calf muscle to get some work so driving is actually a good thing for my left foot.
I still can't put all my weight evenly on my foot if Im standing up(with crutches for back up) --my body keeps leaning to the right!GRRRRRRRRRR! Oh well, I think its a combo of my foot being super sensitive on the bottom and my brain keeps saying "Its not going to work, don't lean all the way" haha!
I'm gonna work on it, I'd love to be able to walk without my crutches in 3 weeks or less but I'll take it at the speed Im comfortable. Life will be so much nicer without my stupid crutches, all I want is for them to go in the closet or garage and COLLECT DUST FOREVER! HA HA!
I just hung out around the house today, I was tired from the morning but a good tired so I had a nap to recharge! Oooooooooo I love naps! :-) haha!
I took my 7.5mg of Warfarin and am heading outside for a bit with Adam -- we may do the block as I haven't been out in the wee-chair for a while and it's a lovely evening for it! :-)
Tomorrow is the ultrasound at 2:45pm so I'll let you know how that goes tomorrow
Thanks for checking in

Hi. Thank you for posting your ordeal with TTS. I just finished reading your entire posting. I had my second opinion yesterday and it was confirmed that I have TTS. My issue started when I was hit from behind (right leg) by a golf cart in June of 2008. I intially had a high/low ankle sprain. Which finally went away in october.
ReplyDeleteBut to my dismay, something else was wrong. I had an MRI and they then found a ganglion cyst located inside my ankle attached to the tendon. It was caused by the initial injury. He was able to drain it in his office and shoot it with cortizone. Didnt work. So in Dec. 08 he surgically went in and removed it. Within 2 weeks I could tell it was back. Another MRI later it was confirmed. He tried to drain it again in his office.
After him putting the needle half way into my ankle for the 4th time, I told him this was his last shot because I starting to feel abit warm. Well, the 5th time didnt work either. So, I was scheduled for Flouro Guided Aspiration at the surgery center.
And since the accident originally happened while I was at work, this is done thru workers comp and takes weeks to get anything autorized. So its weeks inbetween any surgeries or Aspirations.
SO within 2 weeks after the Flouro Guided Aspiration I could tell something was still wrong. And the pain on my ankel worsened and for months ive had a numb spot on the bottom of my heal and know if i touch the inside of my right ankle, I get shooting tingly feelings (like shocks) to the bottom of my foot. If I bounce my foot off the floor slighty and gently I can tell the entire heal of my right foot is numb.
I am sure the cyst is back, but instead of Workers Comp having another MRI done to see if the cyst is back, they opted for a second opnion because my doctor, who is a podiatrist, says he gives his diagnosis as TTS. He did send me for an EMG, which came out negative, but he stated as did the second opinion doctor that you could take that test a half dozen times before it showed anything. And taking the EMG test 1 time is enough for me.
So, yesterday, I had my second opinion. And he also stated I have all the signs and symptoms of TTS. He also stated that by looking at the MRI's, I have had 2 done, that if I have the surgery, I would have to have 2 or 3 blood vessels tied off. He said they are unusually large. The thought of surgery doesnt scare me....Its the thought of what might happen with having some blood vessels tied off.
On top of all that, back in 2002 I was diagnosed with RSD in both legs. I had aggressive doctors and its under control and I havent had any issues since the accident last year that eventually caused TTS.
So here I am this morning, reading your story. I have a little girl who turned 1 at the beggining of this month and my time with her, since she is all over the house, had been limited. I dont go on walks with her and my wife on the weekends. I get to play for short periods of time crawling on the floor before I have to stop. I know my wife is overwhelmed and to be asked to do even more if I have the surgery really bothers me. But, we did talk about it yesterday after my second opninion appointment, and if theirs even a %50 chance the surgery will work and it gives me back time with my daughter, then it will work out. Shes been thru alot already with my first surgery to remove the cyst, but TTS release surgery is 100 times worse then that.
Im just glad to have a wonderful, caring wife as I from what I have read, your husband is.
So, in the middle of july I go back to see my doctor who by then will have the report from the second opinion doctor. More then likely, I will have the surgery which will take Workers Comp 3 to 4 weeks to approve. So thats 3 to 4 weeks worth of recovery I could have had behind me if the system wouldnt be so slow.
I hope things everyday get better for you. And wish you only the best in recovery. I will bookmark your Blog and read it daily.
Thanks for your story but sorry for the Pain
